Events Assistant


Position: Events Assistant (Voluntary)

Purpose: Events Assistants support WebRoots Democracy (WRD) with the organisation and promotion of report launches, and anniversary events.

Location: Events Assistants work remotely and may be required to attend occasional team meetings at TechHub, Shoreditch.

Key responsibilities:

  • To provide assistance with the organisation of report launches in Parliament, TechHub, and elsewhere.
  • To provide assistance with our upcoming anniversary event at Newspeak House.
  • To assist with the promotion of report launches and other WRD events.
  • To occasionally attend and contribute to WRD team meetings.

Responsible to: Areeq Chowdhury, Chief Executive

Length of appointment: All WRD volunteers are appointed for a period of three months. After three months, the volunteer may be reappointed for another three months at the discretion of the Chief Executive. This process continues at the end of each three month period.

Time commitment: Volunteers are expected to contribute around three to four hours a week, however this may differ on occasion, e.g. with events. In addition, they will be expected to occasionally attend team meetings at TechHub, Shoreditch.

Qualifications: Knowledge of UK politics, and ideally previous experience of organising events in Parliament and elsewhere. All WRD volunteers will ideally meet our three values of positivity, self-motivation, and changemaking.

Support: Training will be provided by the Chief Executive who will also be available for questions and assistance.
